also, during my "rest", I got hooked on these cute little english people. meet lola and charlie. I know I am probably so last week on this one, but I might just name our first born after these two. what is it about english accents that make the whole world seem like a place where beauty is always just around the corner. why does "coloring in book" sound so much better than "coloring book".

yeah, i know what you are thinking. you are soooo jealous of all my "resting".

post-operative report

hey yall. well, its been quite a week in some respects. I'll be honest, i am not up to rehashing the surgery I had Monday. It went well. It was meant to diagnose my fertility issues. It got us pointed in a direction, which is good. We might have a long road ahead, as if the road had not been long already. I am definately at the place where I know I can't do this alone. I am not sure, on some days, if I want to do anything at all. I suppose we all have ways where we are painfully aware that we don't get to control everything. This is my thing, and all I can do is the next thing- which for now is to go to another dr's appt. in two weeks.

meanwhile, I have spent alot of this week "resting" which translates into having watched some 10 episodes of "the OC". shameful, I know. anyone else find the Cohen family as interesting as I do?

breathe in, breathe out

I am on day 3 of vacation. I make it a point not to talk about work on this world wide web blog, but I certainly don't mind boasting that I am not there for two more entire weeks. today I turned off the computer and the tv and opened the window, and breathed in real deep- letting the quiet into my bones and lungs and anything that would hold it. I read part of a book. I went to the bookstoere and read in the sunshine. I ate a cheeseburger. I came home and listened to Ryan Adams very loudly while I cleaned my kitchen. I took a nap. Ate a frozen pizza with my husband who currently sports an ever growing afro. Community group. hung out with the jones- how i love the jones. and now I sleep. good nite.

Whole Pay Check

News Flash. Whole Foods Market (which Birmingham just got, Thank God), has something akin to Trader Joe's three buck chuck...that is, wine on the cheap. WFM's brand, 365, has wine for 3.75, I think. White and Red wine.

All in all, I am impressed with the new WFM. It's nice and roomy. No bulk Bins at this Whole Foods. They have bulk "packages". I was pretty disappointed in that. Does anyone know if that is the new way of Whole Foods?

The produce was nice. It's mostly too expensive..almost 2 bucks for cilantro. That's just crazy.

The cheese. oh the cheese. My husband will die. He has missed good cheese, and now he shall have it again.

I was mostly reminded of a story on NPR that referred to Whole Foods as Whole Pay Check. This. is. true.
